The Principal Project Engineer is responsible for managing a portfolio of business-critical projects aligned with the Solta manufacturing site priorities to ensure continuity of supply.  The position will be involved with the overall process of project portfolio management as well as leading individual projects.

 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties:

The Solta Principal Project Engineer has responsibilities within two main areas:

 

Portfolio Management 
•    The project engineer is the owner of the Solta sustaining project management process
•    Chair meeting to rate and rank projects with the management team
•    Chair meeting to review project status with the management team and project leads
•    Chair regular reviews of progress against project goals and deliverables
•    Manage overall process to accommodate high priority project requests and make appropriate trade-offs with currently active projects as needed
•    Project preparation and deliverables (inputs, outputs such as plans, budget, resources, etc.) in place for each project
•    Communicate changes to project priorities and timelines
•    Monitor overall portfolio spend against budget
•    Support annual operating plan with budgetary activities and estimation of resources
•    Develop close working relationship with site management and functional managers to ensure alignment and balance of project resource needs with other site projects
•    Track progress against annual project goals and budgets

 

Project Management 


•    Responsible for the cross functional execution of assigned projects
•    Ensure project plans are in place and regularly monitored for all assigned projects including a detailed project charter/scope, budget, resource assignments, risk assessment, and milestone schedule
•    Lead individual projects within the project portfolio as assigned
 
Experience, Education, Training, Traits:


•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or related). Master’s degree preferred
•    A minimum of eight years of experience as an engineer with at least five years’ leading technical projects
•    PMP or similar certification preferred
•    Advanced understanding of Microsoft Project and/or OnePlan preferred
•    A demonstrated ability to analyze and manage issues across multiple functional disciplines
•    Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and documentation skills
•    Proven track record of delivering to objectives
•    Strong teamwork and negotiation skills and the ability to influence without authority
•    Ability to be successful within a matrix-reporting environment
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Experience in leading projects that involve design transfer from R&D to manufacturing
•    A self-motivated and results-oriented individual
•    Experience in a medical device manufacturing a plus
•    Lean or Six Sigma training and/or certification a plus

As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay for this role is $110k to $165k per year.
