The Production Technician IV is a senior individual contributor role responsible for advanced board-level and component-level troubleshooting, and failure analysis of electromechanical and RF/LASER medical devices. Serves as the primary technical escalation resource for non-routine production failures that cannot be resolved through standard production test methods or routine troubleshooting. The role is accountable for identifying root cause, documenting technical findings, recommending disposition of nonconforming material, and providing actionable feedback to Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Quality, and R&D to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and test effectiveness. The Technician IV also mentors junior technicians and supports continuous improvement of troubleshooting and test methods.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

· Independently performs board-level and component-level troubleshooting on analog, digital, RF, LASER, and electromechanical assemblies, including limited component replacement for diagnostic confirmation and failure isolation, to isolate failures to the component or circuit level.

· Serves as the primary technical escalation resource for non-routine production failures that cannot be resolved through standard work instructions, automated test flows, or routine board-swap/component-replacement activities.

· Conducts and documents root-cause failure analysis for manufacturing defects, test failures, and other nonconforming material.

· Evaluates failed material and provides technically supported recommendations for disposition, including supplier/vendor rework or other appropriate corrective action.

· Processes defective material to MRB in a timely manner and provides meaningful technical input to support material review and disposition decisions.

· Identifies recurring failure trends and provides feedback to improve test methods, manufacturing processes, work instructions, training, and supplier quality.

· Supports new product introduction activities by helping develop debug approaches, test methods, work instructions, and failure isolation strategies for pilot and early production builds.

· Coaches and mentors junior technicians in troubleshooting methods, failure isolation, documentation expectations, and escalation criteria.

· Communicates issues affecting production yield, quality, throughput, and reliability to management and engineering with clear technical assessment and recommended next steps.

· Supports manufacturing in engineering-related issues including documentation, test, component evaluation, performance issues, and engineering change implementation.

 

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:

 

· HS Dipolma

· Minimum five years of hands-on experience testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting analog and digital electronics at the component, subsystem, and system level required.

· Demonstrated experience performing complex board-level and component-level troubleshooting, including selective component replacement for failure isolation and diagnostic confirmation.

· Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and engineering documentation to isolate failure root cause.

· Experience documenting technical findings and communicating root-cause conclusions and corrective recommendations to cross-functional teams.

· Experience supporting MRB, nonconforming material evaluation, or failure disposition required.

· Experience in a medical device or similarly regulated environment preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and elevate the technical capability of production personnel.

· Good English skills with effective verbal, written, and reading abilities.

· Experience working in an ESD-controlled environment.

· Basic computer skills.

 

The range of starting base pay for this role is 27.64 - 38.05 per hour.  Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications and location.  In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
