Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
• Schedule, track, and report progress on regulatory processes for Bausch Health products.
• Understand Bausch Health product design and operation with respect to the regulatory approval process within each entity that BHC chooses to pursue regulatory approval.
• Provide product technical assistance for teams in every approval principality.
• Communicate test processes to labs, trouble shoot EMC and safety agency technical issues and work with design team to resolve regulatory issues proactively in a design for regulatory approval up front process.
• Read, write, review, and release documentation pertaining to EMC and safety agency approvals including: test plans, EMI/EMC reports, UL or equivalent safety test reports, operating manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Work with product EMC, Safety, and medical device regulatory agencies to assure product approvals.
• Able to travel between the US and test venues when required with valid passport.
Experience, Education, Training, Skills, Traits:
• Must have excellent communications skills in English, other languages are a plus.
• BS Engineering degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years in regulatory technical product development or service, including experience in EMC regulatory approvals.
• Candidate should have laboratory EMI/EMC and safety agency testing experience.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment including software, optical, RF, mechanical and project management disciplines.
• Capable of learning and differentiating multiple products with multiple configurations.
• Hands-on experience: The ability to debug electronics and EMC issues at the board and cable level is required;
• Familiarity with worldwide EMC and safety regulatory standards: 60601-x, ISO, FCC, or country equivalent agencies.
• Skilled in problem definition, analysis, data collection, generating solid conclusions, and recommendations.
Desired technical skills:
• Technically capable of dis-assembly and assembly of all products at the enclosure removal level.
• Technically capable of inspection with respect to assembly for EMC and safety compliance. Understands cable construction, design for EMC and safety compliance, and the principles of radiated, conducted, susceptibility, grounding, and ESD as it relates to product approvals.
• Familiar with EMC and safety testing laboratory practices and best practices for testing. A technical understanding of RF principles required for EMC spectrum analysis, antenna use, sniffer probe, oscilloscope use, and familiarity with other lab equipment such as power supplies, power meters, volt meters etc.
• Familiar with regulated/medical device documentation systems and change process. Able to submit change orders and track technical project progress.
• Basic understanding of product principles in ultrasound, lasers, optics, and RF.
As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay for this role is $130k-$195k per year.
