Reporting to the Executive Director, SalesForce Excellence, the Director of CL&D will be accountable for managing a team tasked with the development and implementation of innovative training strategies, programs and processes to support the GI, Institutional Accounts, Pain and Primary teams for Bausch Health. Their mission is to improve the effectiveness of the Commercial field sales teams. This candidate will collaborate with various functional leaders including Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, Marketing Operations and IT.  In need of a strong leader who possesses high emotional intelligence and preferably has field leadership or training experience.
 
The Director of CL&D will oversee and lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering strategic direction and excellence in training and adult learning principles throughout the organization. The team’s key responsibilities include acting as the organization’s in-house authority on training and adult learning principles, offering strategic direction throughout the employee lifecycle, including new hire onboarding, brand updates, clinical training, sales strategy and planning sessions, as well as ongoing continuing education. This team will bring deep expertise in sales and training, collaborating with internal stakeholders at every level and engaging external partners such as creative agencies. Job Responsibilities:
 
•    Designing and executing a robust training curriculum that supports both the brands and overall company objectives, including the development of course materials and assessment tools
•    Evaluating and identifying training needs across commercial field sales
•    Ensuring all sales teams maintain annual product certifications and working with business leaders to confirm all field associates are properly trained on promoted products
•    Advancing clinical expertise in brand therapeutic areas among the field force
•    Establishing and monitoring metrics to evaluate training program effectiveness
•    Guaranteeing that all training materials—whether in person, online, or testing—are reviewed and compliant with Bausch Health guidelines
•    Delivering high-quality training in partnership with marketing, sales, medical teams, key opinion leaders, and other stakeholders, utilizing a range of educational approaches
•    Developing programs focused on clinical, business, and leadership skills
•    Leading the creation of curriculum for National Sales Meetings and POAs
•    Preparing budgets and resourcing plans to support business needs
•    Enhance clinical acumen throughout the field force.
•    Develop and maintain metrics to assess the value and impact of training initiatives.
•    Guarantee that all training materials—live, online, or testing—are approved and in compliance with Bausch Health standards.
•    Deliver high-quality training by partnering with relevant departments and key opinion leaders, employing a variety of instructional methods and strategies.
•    Design and deliver programs aimed at strengthening clinical, business, and leadership capabilities.
•    Lead the development of curricula for National Sales Meetings and POAs.
 
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: 

•    Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA (or other advanced degree) preferred
•    10+ of professional experience
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
 
•    7+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience
•    3+ years sales leadership or direct report responsibilities 
•    2+ years in a training position or experience working on training projects 
•    Demonstrated ability to think strategically
•    Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
•    Demonstrated understanding of adult learning concepts and current training techniques
•    Strong project management skills with proven track record of execution and results
•    Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, foster collaborative environment, negotiate and influence 
•    This position will require approx. 30% travel to meet the needs of the business
 
The range of starting base pay for this role is 178,965K - 246,077K.  Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
