The Director of Specialty Pharmacy & Hub Services at Bausch Health will lead the strategic development, execution, and optimization of specialty pharmacy distribution and patient support services. This role ensures seamless access to Bausch Health’s specialty products through innovative channel strategies, operational excellence, and collaborative partnerships with specialty pharmacies, hub providers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership – Develop and implement specialty pharmacy and hub service strategies aligned with Market Access and brand objectives. Drive initiatives that enhance patient access, adherence, and satisfaction across therapeutic areas.
- Channel Management – Design and manage the specialty pharmacy network, including contracting, performance monitoring, and optimization. Evaluate and implement innovative distribution models and service arrangements. Coordinate and collaborate with sales operations and reporting to conduct analytics and drive channel performance.
- Hub Services Oversight – Lead relationships with hub service providers to ensure high-quality patient support programs (e.g., benefits verification, prior authorization, copay assistance). Monitor KPIs and service levels to drive continuous improvement and ensure patient-centric outcomes
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with internal teams (e.g., Trade, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain) to align on product access strategies. Support product launches, label expansions, and lifecycle management initiatives
- Compliance & Regulatory – Ensure all specialty pharmacy and hub activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain audit readiness and documentation standards
- Analytics & Reporting – Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor specialty pharmacy and hub performance. Use data insights to inform strategy and optimize the patient journey
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, MPH) preferred
- 10+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, hub services, market access, or trade strategy within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Proven leadership in managing external vendors and internal cross-functional teams, with a focus on operational excellence
- Deep understanding of specialty distribution models, patient support programs, and healthcare reimbursement
- Understands and utilizes economic, financial, and industrial data to accurately diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, as well as able to analyze and act on threats and business opportunities
- Strong ability to lead others in a matrixed environment; applies appropriate interpersonal styles and communications methods to influence and build effective relationships with business partners (e.g., peers, functional partners, external vendors and alliance partners)
- Travel requirements: ability to travel up to 50% may be required
- Role will require PHI (Protected Health Information) access with necessary certifications to help overcome access barriers to secure reimbursement
The range of starting base pay for this role is 175K – 235K. Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
