Position Details

Shift :                                       Permanent, Evening (15:30 – 24:00)

General Responsibilities

Provide support for the analysis and release of finished products/stability/raw material samples to meet quality control schedules.  Review of lab documentation and procedures. Provide exceptional technical support including troubleshooting of complex analytical problems. Provide support with other duties as assigned by Supervisor. 

 


Key Responsibilities 
 
•    Participate in right the first-time quality control testing using various analytical instrumentation techniques while following strict procedures/guidelines.
•    Working closely with Supervisor, provide strong technical support and daily coordination activities for chromatography group.
•    Write and review SOP’s and STM’s, protocols, technical reports, and data.
•    Act as a subject matter expert and provide analytical guidance to the Quality Control Analysts and participate in out-of-trend and out-of-specifications investigations.   
•    Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
•    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve instrumental and analytical problems and escalate issues as required (internal and external).
•    Train new and existing employees in the operation of various analytical instruments and testing procedures.
•    Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
•    Participate in the area of occupational health, safety, and wellness.

 

Education & Experience Requirements 

•    Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry or Life Science or College diploma in Chemical Technology. 
•    Minimum 5 years’ related industry experience with proficiency using laboratory instrumentation. 

 

Technical and Professional Requirements 

•    Strong knowledge of US Pharmacopoeia (European Pharmacopoeia an assists).
•    Working knowledge of Health Canada, FDA, ICH regulations and guidelines that govern the pharmaceutical industry.
•    Strong knowledge of Chromatography (principles, instrumentation and software). 
•    Strong knowledge of computer software programs (including Microsoft Office).

Total Rewards

The range of starting base pay for this role is $70,031 – $87,539. Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in our annual bonus program.
