Job Title: Evening Mechanic – Equipment, Engineering

Job Summary
The role of the Production Mechanic is to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, coordinate and follow up on assigned project activities, while complying with HSE regulations, GMP standards, and other applicable guidelines, standards, and regulations. The role also includes using machine tools to manufacture or repair precision parts.
2. Main Responsibilities
Maintenance of Equipment and Mechanical Services:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment (manufacturing and packaging).

Complete all required tasks according to service priorities while respecting applicable standards.

Provide technical support for production equipment and resolve operational issues.
-
Inform the department head or delegate of any issues encountered during maintenance and/or projects.
-
Maintain the automatic palletizing system through preventive and corrective interventions.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on certain equipment in other departments (laboratory, warehouse).

Perform mechanical machining (repair and/or manufacturing) and welding tasks.
-
Use the SAP system for consultation, planning, and work order confirmation.

Ensure compliance with deadlines and execution of work orders under their responsibility.

Ensure compliance with quality processes, GMP, and HSE during equipment modifications.

Respond to "client" requests related to mechanical issues with equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, in accordance with GMP and occupational safety requirements.
Projects:

Participate in the planning, organization, and implementation of projects related to production equipment (packaging and manufacturing).

Provide support during the start-up and operation of equipment.

Coordinate and oversee work performed by external contractors related to the preventive/corrective maintenance of production equipment.

Carry out all assigned tasks related to equipment validation in accordance with GMP, HSE, and other specific regulatory requirements.
Key Internal and External Professional Relationships
Internal Partners: Production, HSE, Quality, and Procurement departments.
External Partners: Service providers, contractors involved in project work.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Educational Background:
-
College Diploma (DEC) in Industrial Maintenance or Electromechanics
OR -
Vocational Diploma (DEP) in Machining Techniques combined with strong mechanical aptitude
OR -
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Languages:
-
French required, English is an asset
Experience and Specialized Knowledge:
-
5 to 8 years of mechanical experience on production equipment (manufacturing and packaging).

Experience in machining and TIG welding.
-
Knowledge of Canadian standards.

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
