Job Title: Technical Operator, Arestin Unit
Supervisor: Team Lead, Arestin Unit
Manager: Packaging Supervisor
1. Position Purpose
Under the direction of the manager, the incumbent performs adjustments, modifications, and maintenance on the equipment in the Arestin production unit, in accordance with or improving Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Health & Safety rules. The incumbent assembles and disassembles equipment during batch changes. When required, the incumbent will act as team lead and replace the Arestin Unit Team Lead during their absence.
2. Main Responsibilities
- Ensure daily that machines are in proper working condition; perform maintenance and corrective actions.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement of equipment and department procedures, including participation in changeover time reduction projects, team working sessions, equipment modifications, and implementing recommendations.
- Maintain and update, and when necessary develop, new assembly and disassembly procedures; participate in training employees who work on the equipment.
- Perform equipment assembly and disassembly during planned batch changes per established procedures. Perform start-up, daily, and end-of-batch tests.
- Perform equipment and room cleaning.
- Occasionally perform batch closing and opening activities, ensuring all documentation is completed.
- Stay current on new technology and work-related concepts by participating in new equipment installation; support operators during start-up and ramp-up phases.
- Perform any other related tasks assigned by the manager or supervisor.
- Comply with and/or improve GMP requirements and Health, Safety & Environment policies.
3. Management Responsibility
- May manage the department in the absence of the Arestin Unit Team Lead.

6. Required Knowledge and Skills
a) Education
- College diploma in mechanics or electromechanics, or a vocational diploma with relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
b) Languages
- French
- English, an asset
c) Specific Experience and Skills
- Ability to accurately distinguish colors
- Manual dexterity
- Strong analytical skills
d) Technical Competencies
- Knowledge of the metric system
- Advanced mechanical understanding
