Reporting to the Manager of Planning, you will provide critical support to the production planning team at the Bausch Health Laval manufacturing site. This role offers a hands-on introduction to supply chain management within the pharmaceutical industry. You will assist in interfacing with key customers, utilizing the SAP S/4HANA ERP system, and helping to maintain a production schedule that balances resource efficiency with customer needs. You will also have the opportunity to assist in high-impact projects, such as product transfers and new launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management: Assist in securing monthly forecasts from external customers and entering them into the local system.
- Demand Validation: Help review and validate internal demand signals arriving via system interfaces.
- SAP Support: Learn to create Purchase Orders (POs) and Sales Orders within SAP and validate data entry accuracy.
- Material Coordination: Review the availability of raw materials and packaging components against upcoming production requirements.
- Scheduling Support: Execute process order completeness checks using the Planning Helper tool and assist in developing finite production schedules.
- Meeting Participation: Join weekly production meetings to help validate schedules and participate in daily Operations Tier 2 (LEAN) meetings.
- Order Tracking: Monitor order release status and delivery timelines, helping to communicate updates or delays to customers.
- Inventory Control: Assist in updating priority lists for Quality releases and processing destruction requests for obsolete or expired inventory.
- Project Support: Support the planning and tracking of validation batches for new product launches and transfers.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to LEAN improvement initiatives to help optimize plant efficiency and minimize waste.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, ideally specializing in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
- Tech Savvy: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Familiarity with Power BI is a significant asset.
- Systems: A quick learner with an interest in mastering SAP S/4HANA and other ERP tools.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to facilitate small discussions and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving.
Previous Experience (Preferred)
- Previous internship or office experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment is an asset.
- An interest in or basic understanding of the regulations governing the pharmaceutical or food industries (e.g., GMP standards).
