We are seeking to fill a Summer Student position as junior QC Laboratory technician at Laval.

 

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

 

Reporting to the QC Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing documentation technician duties as a summer student.

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Learn basic techniques (use of balances, pH meters, etc.) in order to perform basic analyses in the Microbiology laboratory (e.g., culture media preparation).
  • Participate in inventory management, equipment maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments when required.
  • Collaborate with the laboratory team to understand needs and adapt support accordingly.
  • Manage the disposal and archiving of documentation in the Microbiology laboratory.
  • Contribute to the writing of procedures and/or operation manuals, as needed.
  • Work in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that the workstation is kept clean in accordance with GLP and HSE requirements.
  • Maintain technical qualifications and up‑to‑date knowledge of current methods and procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • College Diploma (DEC) in Chemistry-Biology or Biotechnology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology.
  • Knowledge of GMP/GLP standards and good documentation practices.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Word (advanced formatting, template creation, styles, tables).
  • Good knowledge of Excel (an asset).
  • Strong organizational skills, rigor, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bilingual: French and English.
