Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) act as the subject matter experts in compliantly educating healthcare provider (HCP) staff on Dermatology Customer Support Programs while addressing patient-specific reimbursement and access needs for Dermatology. The FRM builds and maintains professional relationships with key account contacts in an assigned geography. FRMs work seamlessly and compliantly in coordination with all customer support services (including the patient support hub/case management team), specialty pharmacies, and other field teams while supporting patient access. FRMs are seen as strong individual contributors displaying leadership skills and contributing to business impact with peers and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrating working knowledge in commercial and government reimbursement/access, as well as deep payer market expertise in their geographic region
- Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills related to complex patient access challenges across payers and specialty pharmacies
- Focusing interactions with healthcare providers on education around pricing and reimbursement to facilitate access to medically necessary, prescribed treatment
- Educating HCP staff on prior authorization requirements, coverage status, and payer appeals requirements, processes, and timelines – including benefit investigation and claims/appeals support – while emphasizing that healthcare providers are responsible for determining appropriate coding and submitting accurate claims
- Training HCP staff on customer support programs for the supported portfolio
- Improving the customer experience by condensing complex issues into simple solutions
- Educating office staff regarding patient financial assistance and alternate funding options for the uninsured and underinsured
- Leveraging expertise and skills to improve competencies of peers
- Maintaining working knowledge of commercial payer coverage policies
- Compliantly communicating with internal stakeholders, specialty pharmacies, and customer support program personnel to navigate the patient access and reimbursement experience
- Complying with all applicable restrictions on reimbursement-related communications
- Adhering to all applicable patient privacy requirements (HIPAA)
- Referring product-related questions outside the reimbursement scope to the Sales team, and referring off-label or clinical/medical questions to Medical Affairs
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving history to travel to customer locations
- Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical or B2B sales experience, with a demonstrated track record of success
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing or patient support (e.g., specialty pharmacy, hub provider, physician practice, etc.)
- 3+ years management/training experience in pharma
- Demonstrated ability to conduct field-based customer support and education related to payer coverage and payment processes
- Experience working with physician practices, navigating patient assistance programs and similar pharmaceutical support programs
- Understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient privacy
- Executive-level presentation skills
- Resides in or within close proximity to assigned geography preferred
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM/case-management platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with customers via virtual meeting platforms
- Ability to manage expenses within allocated budgets
Travel & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel as required by the specific territory, which may include overnight travel (approximately 50-75%)
The range of starting base pay for this role is 134K – 160K. Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
