POSITION SUMMARY

 

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Laval plant, the incumbent of the position ensures the management of all project implementation phases in the pharmaceutical sector. The incumbent manages engineering, development, and construction projects for the site, constantly seeking to maximize returns on invested capital without compromising health, safety, or the integrity of the site.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Technical details

 

• Participates in identifying projects and validates the feasibility of proposed approaches and their consistency with the engineering group's practices;

• Ensures that investment files are prepared;

• Drafts performance requirements for calls for tenders

• Awards engineering study contracts;

• Monitors priorities in terms of technical choices and ensures the consistency of modification projects initiated in the various sectors;

• Validates projects to modify or improve industrial tools and infrastructure across all sectors;

• Proposes and oversees the site master plan and monitors its implementation;

• Monitors studies and provides technical expertise on any requests for information within their field of expertise;

• Supports the site's needs for modifications to buildings and services;

• Understands and applies health and safety risk analysis concepts related to operations and facilities (i.e., flammable products, electrical classifications).

 

organization and monitoring of construction sites / projects

 

• Manages a junior project manager and multiple external resources, including coordinating site supervisors and security guards assigned to construction sites.

• Defines and ensures compliance with site organization and monitoring rules;

• Ensures compliance with best practices in project management, deadlines, and costs, and informs the relevant departments in the event of deviations;

• Takes charge of strategic construction sites;

• Responsible for maintaining the Autocad electronic plan database, supervising the drafting of drawings as constructed on computer media;

• Drafts applications for certificates of authorization, municipal permit applications, and building modification proposals to the Factory Mutual insurer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor of Engineering and Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec

Minimum 5 years of engineering experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical environment

Minimum 2 years of experience in personnel management
