The Territory Manager is responsible for developing product adoption and executing a business/territory plan to drive sales performance for Salix GI products within an assigned geography. The Territory Manager serves as the primary point of contact for GI Specialty providing disease and product education and delivering superior customer service to the total office in a compliant manner. The Territory Manager is a consistent, driven performer with proven selling skills who collaborates closely with cross-functional partners – including Field Reimbursement, RAE and sales leadership – to support total account management.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Drive product adoption and sell on key clinical attributes for approved indications using approved promotional materials and a balanced presentation within a defined geography
  • Develop, analyze, and execute territory/account plans to achieve and exceed business results through compliant means
  • Educate healthcare providers on appropriate and accurate product prescribing
  • Provide patient support resources (e.g., general health plan requirements, co-pay support and Rx fulfillment), using approved materials
  • Successfully complete a formal training and certification program for all responsible products and disease states, demonstrating proficiency in product & market knowledge and selling skills
  • Use functional and technical knowledge of Bausch Health products, healthcare, pharmaceutical marketplace, managed care, and customer markets to meet or exceed customer needs
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; effectively handle objections and consistently gain reasonable calls to action
  • Develop and execute a call plan that optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager
  • Establish and maintain excellent communications and sound working relationships with co-workers and assigned physicians/healthcare providers
  • Actively participate in scheduled company sales meetings, district/regional conference calls, and other business meetings
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity while modeling behaviors consistent with company standards and policies for business and compliance-related matters
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners – including Field Reimbursement and sales leadership – for total account management
  • Understand appropriate payor and reimbursement guidance, as directed by internal cross-functional stakeholders, and act as the “first line of defense” in answering health care provider questions related to company product reimbursement
  • Escalate complex reimbursement, coding, or billing questions, as well as patient-specific coverage issues, to the Field Reimbursement Manager
  • Complete all administrative tasks (call reporting, expense management, required compliance training) in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all customer interactions in the company’s CRM platform to support territory analytics and compliance documentation
  • Other related duties as required

 

Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical or B2B sales experience preferred, with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Resides in or within close proximity to assigned geography required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving history to travel to customer locations

 

Preferred:

  • Minimum 2 years GI specialty pharmaceutical sales experience preferred, with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Strong business acumen, teamwork, collaboration, accountability, tenacity, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated sustained high performance and strong aptitude for learning
  • High sense of urgency regarding customer service and administrative responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of the business and market in the assigned territory
  • Ability to thrive in a highly driven, fast-paced, results-oriented culture

 

Travel & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel as required by the specific territory, which may include overnight travel
  • Driving in a geographically large territory for long periods of time each day
  • Lifting sample/literature boxes (up to 25 pounds); reasonable accommodations available for individuals unable to meet this requirement
  • Remaining in a standing position for prolonged periods of time when giving presentations
  • Performing other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time

 

 

The range of starting base pay for this role is 105K-145K.  Actual starting pay will be based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education and location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for participation in either (i) our annual bonus program or (ii) a sales incentive plan.
