The Active Directory SME provides hands-on support and implementation services for Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Azure Active Directory Domain Service, DNS, and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions.

 

Resolves and appropriately completes assigned tasks and change requests and acts as an escalation for support issues. Applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and Managed Service providers to determine course of action for new application initiatives. Implements new software solutions as required by the business.

 

The core infrastructure technology duties include support of enterprise Microsoft Active Directory and Windows services. Some specific duties are troubleshooting system issues, implementing appropriate security controls, monitoring and implementation of new services in cooperation with Security and Architecture & Engineering groups.

 

This role requires an in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Azure Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, Azure Private DNS, Azure Active Directory Connect (Entra ID Connect), Exchange online, Windows Server 2008 to 2022, windows security and AWS managed AD. Working knowledge of Azure and AWS (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions) is preferred. Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures experience is a plus. Microsoft certifications are a plus.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as operational lead for the Directory Services tower at BHC.
  • Serves as escalation point for troubleshooting directory services related issues. Provides guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues to the MSP teams.
  • Proactively monitor directory services health to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability
  • Lead planning, designing and implementation of new Active Directory services setup, upgrades, and new releases for both corporate and OT (manufacturing) environments.
  • Validate system upgrades and patches when required.
  • Upgrade system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs.
  • Provide appropriate user support as assigned.
  • Group Policy implementation and administration.
  • Serves as the first line of escalation support for domain technology issues that cannot be resolved by tier one and two server support, guiding Managed Service Provider.
  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
  • Assist with the installation and configuration of the Active Directory network components.
  • Provide technical assistance pertaining to Active Directory & SSO (Entra ID/Enterprise Applications/Azure App proxy) in planning and development of new projects.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the Active Directory & Entra ID environments.
  • Lead M&A, spin-off, and divestiture efforts as it relates to directory services –rebranding directory services (AD) and M365 platforms (Sharepoint, teams etc.)
