Director, Business and Legal Affairs

The Director, Business and Legal Affairs will be an intricate part of the global intellectual property team and will support the intellectual property needs of our US corporate, R&D, and business development teams. You will be responsible for the management of patent prosecution, oversight of adversarial proceedings at the US Patent Office and federal courts, counseling to our BHC businesses, review and drafting of intellectual property agreements, and performing intellectual property diligence. This role reports to the VP, Head of Global Intellectual Property. 

This is a hybrid role and requires three days in office in Brodgewater, New Jersey. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Preparing and prosecuting patent applications, both domestic and international.
• Supporting IP litigation (domestic and/or international).
• Generating and reviewing opinions relating to infringement, validity, and clearance.
• Working in all areas of IP due diligence, including acquisitions.
• Negotiating and drafting complex IP agreements.
• Pharmaceutical or medical device business on high-level patent issues.

BACKRGOUND:

• Must be admitted to practice in the US PTO
• Must be a meber of the state bar
• 3+ years practicing patent law in the pharmaceutical and/or chemical field is required.
• JD degree and Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy or biochemistry
