The data science team within Commercial Data Science and Analytics will exist to help the Commercial Operations, Marketing and Sales organizations achieve their vision by unlocking value from data quicker and more effectively.

 

The Director, Data Science will lead the execution of this vision and report to the Executive Director of Data Science & Analytics. This incumbent will be responsible for development and deployment of recently launched AI-enable “Customer Insights Engine”. Customer Insights Engine generates optimal HCP call plan based on machine learning and optimization models that draw on key datasets (i.e., external data sources such as claims, affiliations, etc. and internal data sources such as CRM engagements).

 

Responsibilities

 

  • This position will be accountable for the data science analytics in partnership with the business team with a particular focus on field force call allocation and optimization
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and internal clients such as Sales organization, Marketing Brand Directors, Customer Engagement teams and Senior Leadership to stay abreast of business trends, understand the business issues and develop relevant business intelligence and analytical solutions
  • Deep comprehension of internal customers' data and diagnostic needs focusing on the customer-facing model requirements. Facilitate model governance related to operational governance, business planning and future changes such as business rules, constraints and model objective
  • Lead and mentor a team of ML Ops Engineers, Feature Engineers and Data Scientists. Oversee and co-ordinate with an external partner who will provide ML Ops/Data Science support for daily operations and future enhancements
  • Should be an SME in Pharma Advanced Analytics – Sales Force Detailing Optimization and Allocation, Clustering, Test & Control, MMX modeling, ROI.
  • Build and evaluate Promotional Response models, impact assessment for physician-directed promotional programs and Marketing Mix models, Optimal promotional sequences to establish business impacts of various Health Care Provider (HCP) promotions
  • Generate standard or custom reports and presentations summarizing business and financial data for review by Executives, Managers, Clients, and other Stakeholders
  • Research and apply emerging analytical methods and tools such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Advanced Statistical methods, Cloud Computing in Amazon Web Server (AWS), Python, R etc., to measure promotional impacts and optimal budget allocations

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 -10 years of work experience in areas of advanced analytics, data science, statistical modeling, and market mix modeling.

 

  • Marketing analytics and application of advanced methods on large and disparate datasets, specifically: Modelling and analytics, Design of Experiments, Time Series, Regression methods. Data Mining, Predictive Modelling & Machine Learning algorithms.

 

  • Working knowledge of the application of statistical estimation techniques and / or optimization techniques. Relevant expertise in using analytic tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, ML

 

  • Comprehension of the Health Care or Pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of using various 3rd party data sources, such as IQVIA Exponent and/or Longitudinal Patient Level Data are necessary.

 

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to convey actionable analytical findings to a non-technical audience in clear and concise language.
