The Business Intelligence Developer position is responsible for partnering with business partners across various business functions to understand their information requirements, identifying the optimal data sourcing strategy to enable the reporting requirements, collaborating with the IT Data Management team to establish the needed data architecture and performing the design and development of reporting solutions that meet the end-user information needs.  This position will also troubleshoot and drive resolution of any technical issues that business reporting teams may encounter, in addition to helping educate the end-user community with “tips and techniques” within the Business Intelligence domain to ensure maximum usage of Bausch Health reporting tools.  This position will also perform research on emerging technologies within the Business Intelligence domain, perform proof of concepts to assess new tool capabilities, assist in the upkeep of the Business Intelligence standards and help foster a robust internal Community of Practice for Business Intelligence Developers.


  • Responsible for collaborating with business partners to discuss their information needs and ensuring the successful delivery of reporting and dashboarding solutions to meet end-user information needs   
  • Responsible for working with business teams to ensure reporting requirements are clearly articulated and documented
  • Responsible for creating the technical artifacts including solution blueprints, high-level design documents and establishing the physical data models for the envisioned Business Intelligence solution
  • Designing a robust data architecture to enable the successful deliver of reporting requirements and to ensure optimal query run-time performance of the reporting portfolio
  • Designing and developing reporting solutions that meet business expectations
  • Partnering with external partners to proactively assess existing reporting systems for improvement opportunities
  • Partners with other IT and business reporting teams to examine Lessons Learned and capture Best Practices within the Business Intelligence and Analytics landscape
  • Works with IT Leadership to define the BI tool strategy and performs the upkeep of BI standards information
  • Actively explores new and emerging technologies to help advance Bausch Health Business Intelligence and Analytical capabilities
  • Performs Proof of Concepts on selected technologies to assess new features and functionality of innovative tools to help determine the potential fitment for Bausch Pharma  
  • Provides assistance and support to develop and nurture a Community of Practice for Business Intelligence Developers
  • Plans and coordinates Community of Practice meetings to increase organizational knowledge of selected Bausch Health reporting tools and showcase new BI applications for improved awareness    
  • Participate in capacity planning meetings for all layers in the BI technology stack and help solve complex production issues spanning multiple tiers in the technology stack
  • Overseeing the design and development of reporting solutions that are built by external team members and ensuring the smooth delivery of reporting projects


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Overall, 5 - 10 years in Information Technology with approximately 5 years of pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years of demonstrated experience in the areas of Business Intelligence, Advanced Reporting, Analytics Data Warehousing, Enterprise Architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a high attention to detail to ensure optimal reporting solutions are delivered
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Business Intelligence domain with Power-BI, Tableau and other competing BI tools
  • Experienced with a variety of database management systems (Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server etc) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and Snowflake)
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL, commercial data integration technologies and data modelling tools  
  • Experience with various project development methodologies (ie Waterfall, Agile, Iterative Development)
  • Proven experience working in a global service delivery model and partnering with external vendors
