Occupational Health Manager

Lead the Occupational Health Team by managing Occupational Health policies, procedures and standing orders, oversight, development, training, auditing, medical surveillance, Medical Leave Programs, wellness initiatives and Bausch Health’s IT system named Cority and its Occupational Health module.

Responsible for the Corporation’s Occupational Health program and providing matrix oversight for all Bausch Health Pharma nurses.  They will have direct responsibilities to develop, implement, and manage the strategic and tactical planning in concert with the site Occupational Health nurse. This position will address all aspects of employee health programs, including nursing assessments, medical assistance in a health emergency, ergonomic and repetitive motion, case management of disability and workers compensation cases, health education and training, providing support for emergency preparedness and disaster planning, and recommendations for complex work-related illness or injury.

Scope of the Position:

In close collaboration with EHS+S leadership, develop and implement a comprehensive Health-Needs Plan that assesses current and on-going health risks and vulnerabilities.  Develop corresponding policy and protocol for acceptance, adoption, and effective execution, that incorporates:


  • Occupational Health Compliance and Auditing
  • Oversite of employee Medical Leave cases
  • Cority Occupational Health module management and training
  • Oversite of complex workers’ compensation claims
  • Liaison for Bausch Health and ESIS (3rd party administrator for workers’ compensation claims) – Operations and Commercial
  • 3rd party Medical Surveillance vendors management
  • Liaison for Bausch Health and Plaintiff attorneys associated with workers’ compensation claims
  • Preliminary workers’ compensation case preparation for liability reserve and settlement approval
  • Preliminary workers’ compensation case workup for mediation with employees or injured 3rd party
  • Emergency response for US Commercial organization motor vehicle incidents
  • Wellness program initiatives and support
  • Vaccination clinic oversight
  • Pandemic response planning
  • Engagement with site leadership on performance and expectations of nursing requirements
  • Lead projects that support the standardization and continuous improvement initiatives regarding Occupational Health programs and processes
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of site level health needs based upon varying business/occupational threats and risks
  • Lead the nursing staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining services to reduce health/medical related risk, respond to incidents and limit exposures
  • Assure emergency preparedness response readiness
  • Delivery of required training

  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) with current licensure
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S), preferred
  • Multiple state licensing or Nurse Licensure Compact

  • 10-12 years Occupational Health experience in an industrial setting (manufacturing/distribution)
  • Workers’ compensation claims management
  • Federal and State Leave Programs - FMLA/STD/LTD
