The Principal Architect, Data Governance will be a key leader in championing the Enterprise Data Governance program. The incumbent of this role will lead and drive the implementation team, facilitate integration and provide solution definitions for SAP MDM and MDG. Initially, this role will implement an enterprise-wide data governance program and its related processes utilizing best practices, and have ongoing management of the program that will be crucial to ensure the consistent and effective execution of data governance management principles and standards across all of Bausch Pharma enterprise.


The Data Governance function establishes the foundation that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules, and standards by which the Company Supply Chain will define its enterprise-wide data. This individual will oversee and develop over 50 data stewards and collaborate with the Analytical Data Stewards to ensure consistent and effective execution of data governance and management principles across Bausch Pharma enterprise.

This role is hybrid out of our Bridgewater, NJ HQ.



  • Provide architecture recommendations, options and pros/cons on potential changes to SAP MDM initiatives and functional solutions
  • Serve as a single MDM point of contact with other teams for solution design and issue resolution by working with various Project Leads
  • Maintain responsibility for and help ensure that the service and process components are seamlessly integrated to other areas
  • Validate and enhance the integration points between Finance, Strategy and planning processes, SAP core components, SAP technology components such as Portal and other non SAP technology sets
  • Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughout Bausch Pharma systems
  • Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics.
  • Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations
  • Define and manage the roadmap for enterprise-level Master Data Management based upon strategic business objectives, existing capabilities, cultural considerations and a general understanding of emerging technologies and governance models/techniques across the organization’s data systems
  • Establish and communicate KPI’s which monitor the success, value, and efficiency of Supply Chain data maintenance processes, timeliness, and accuracy to build awareness and support
  • Lead Company Data Management Transformation programs from Strategy, Roadmap, design and implementation
  • Re-imagine end-to-end client business processes for Master Data Management
  • Design approaches to enhance data quality of Master Data
  • Create business case and transformation roadmaps
  • Lead internal and client teams through the MDM implementation programs leveraging platforms (SAP-MDG-S/4-ECC-GTS, eCommerce, Peoplesoft, Manugistics, BPICs, GLIMS, etc).

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of management consulting experience in SAP focused Master Data Architecture, Material Master, Supplier Master, and Customer Master and how it enables PLAN, SOURCE, MAKE, QUALITY, DELIVER, and Finance/Controlling
  • Fundamental knowledge concepts, practices, and procedures of data management
  • Ability to work closely with Key Leadership, Functional Consultants, Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Information Architects and Security Architects
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and client management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; MBA from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Travel may be up to 20%
