This position requires 3 days on site in Bridgewater, NJ and will allow for two remote days.


Job Description:

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer position is responsible for partnering with functional teams to understand their reporting requirements, assessing the data landscape, partnering with the IT Data Management team to ensure a robust data architecture is established to meet the reporting needs and performing the design and development of reporting solutions that surpass business expectations.  This position will also serve as an internal Business Intelligence expert to guide and assist other reporting teams, in addition to being an internal advocate for promoting the awareness and understanding that data assets need to be managed as a strategic asset.  This position will also serve as an internal Business Intelligence consultant to establish and lead an internal Community of Practice for Business Intelligence Developers, assist the governance process to define and articulate Business Intelligence standards, codify Business Intelligence Best Practices and work with IT Leadership to define the go-forward Business Intelligence and Analytics roadmap. 


  • Responsible for partnering with business functional managers to discuss their information needs and lead envisioning sessions to brainstorm possible solutions and identify future state capabilities 
  • Responsible for collaborating with business teams to ensure reporting requirements are clearly articulated and documented
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship with business leaders to develop a go-forward roadmap for reporting, dashboarding and analytical capabilities
  • Responsible for creating solution blueprints, high-level design of logical and physical data models for end-to-end business intelligence solutions
  • Designing a robust data architecture to enable the successful deliver of reporting requirements and to ensure optimal query run-time performance of the reporting portfolio
  • Designing and developing reporting solutions that surpass business expectations
  • Works proactively to assess existing reporting solutions for improvement opportunities
  • Partners with other IT and business reporting teams to examine Lessons Learned and capture Best Practices within the Business Intelligence and Analytics landscape
  • Works with IT Leadership to define the BI tool strategy and performs the upkeep of BI standards information
  • Actively explores new and emerging technologies to help advance Bausch Health Business Intelligence and Analytical capabilities
  • Performs Proof of Concepts on selected technologies to assess new features and functionality of innovative tools to help determine the potential fitment for Bausch Pharma  
  • Provides internal consulting expertise to develop and nurture a Community of Practice for Business Intelligence Developers
  • Plans and coordinates Community of Practice meetings to increase organizational knowledge of selected Bausch Health reporting tools and showcase new BI applications for improved awareness    
  • Participate in capacity planning meetings for all layers in the BI technology stack and help solve complex production issues spanning multiple tiers in the technology stack
  • Leading and guiding all Business Intelligence activities within the Commercial business domain and partnering with external vendors to ensure a smooth execution of strategic projects
  • Working closely with strategic partners and providing thought leadership for the development of innovative Business Intelligence solutions  


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Overall, 8 - 12 years in Information Technology with 4 - 6 years of pharmaceutical commercial experience preferred.
  • 5 -10 years of demonstrated experience in the areas of Business Intelligence, Advanced Reporting, Analytics Data Warehousing, Enterprise Architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a high attention to detail to ensure optimal reporting solutions are delivered
  • Deep expertise in the Business Intelligence domain with a high level of expertise in Power-BI, Tableau and other competing BI tools
  • Experienced with a variety of database management systems (Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server etc) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and Snowflake)
  • Deep knowledge of SQL, commercial data integration technologies and data modelling tools  
  • Experience with various project development methodologies (ie Waterfall, Agile, Iterative Development)
  • Proven experience working in a global service delivery model and partnering with external vendors
  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, complex initiatives and conflicting priorities
