This position is an integral part of the Global Consolidations Department supporting the monthly close and SEC reporting process.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of consolidation and close functions, including intercompany reconciliation, foreign exchange analysis, journal entry preparation and review, financial statement preparation and other special projects. 

 

General Functions/Specific Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Intercompany reports and work with various global accounting teams in order to resolve out of balances.
  • Provides audit and other documentation as requested from internal and external auditors, Tax, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Treasury
  • Perform analysis of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts and coordinate with local accounting teams on resolution (if necessary) of unusual balances or variances. 
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, maintaining documented analysis and support, and enter these into the consolidation system.
  • Assist with all items of the month end closing process. The process must be completed timely and with a high level of accuracy.
  • Support SEC reporting process by producing supporting schedules or ad-hoc requests.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives for specific areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with special projects as needed; including, but not limited to, business transactions, acquisitions, carve-outs and Legal Entity changes.
  • Establish rapport and build cooperative, respectful working relationships with relevant internal and external parties. Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

 

Required Education / Skills / Abilities

    • Three to Six years’ experience performing accounting or similar responsibilities.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required and CPA a plus.
    • Public accounting background preferred; Pharma experience a plus.
    • Advanced Excel skills & HFM strongly preferred.
    • High level of attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Ability to multitask, handle changing priorities and tight deadlines.
    • Demonstrates high level of maturity, self-motivation and team-orientation.
