The Planner reports to the Planning Manager and is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of products through the complete production cycle to meet or exceed all global Customer Service levels and Inventory goals.  


Note: The following are meant to be representative but not necessarily all inclusive of the duties and responsibilities for this position title. A given individual will usually perform one of the functions (Production Planner, Demand Planner, Master Scheduler) and still provide backup support for any other function, as needed. May share job responsibilities across functions, as business conditions dictate.

 

Principle Responsibilities & Duties:

Production Planning

  • Executes the factory build plan. Provides direct support to production work cells to build required product. Determines and manages potential line shortages by analyzing build schedules, shortage reports, on hand inventory reports and supplier delivery information. Manages Kanban inventory values and stocking levels.
  • Production status and KPI reporting. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, material and services are provided as needed. Updates and reports KPI metrics.
  • Coordinates cross functionally with Customer Service, Logistics, Finance, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain and Quality groups as required. •    Performs shop order and inventory transactions. Maintains shop floor order and inventory integrity. Researches and resolves discrepancies.
  • Manages cost variances. Resolves work order variances and determines root causes. Provides corrective actions to prevent repeats. Works with Cost Accounting for costing, period end and month end close.
  • Maintains master data integrity. Responsible for maintaining accurate status of production schedules, item masters, Bills of Materials for manufactured and outside processed assemblies, and routers; cross-functionally coordinates BoM changes to minimize scrap and disruption to Manufacturing while maintaining Service Level goals.
  • May create and/or modify processes and procedures using defined methods.
  • Attends daily and weekly production meetings.
  • Reviews existing planning tools and suggests improvements or new tools.
  • Participates in Supply Chain Process Development and Implementation.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits

  • Requires a minimum of an Associates degree, preferably in a technical field or Business Administration, or equivalent work-related experience
  • A minimum of 2-3 years Production Planning experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in the manufacture of instrumentation and/or medical devices including:
  • Knowledge and experience in the utilization of ERP systems and planning tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in Item Masters, Bill of Material structures and component specifications.
  • Inventory management knowledge to include knowledge of various inventory transactions.
  • Good data entry skills in an MRP/ERP environment.
  • Experience working within a rigorous quality system environment (i.e., ISO 13485, FDA cGMP/QSR) preferred.
  • Exhibits a proactive approach to job performance.
  • Exhibits excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration, team building, and development skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint. MS Access skills a plus).
  • APICS certification is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics 365 a plus.
  • Experience with MS Power BI a plus.

 

As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay for this role is $65k - $90k.
